Milo

Milo's philosophy was already deeply embedded in the organisation, but almost invisible in the brand itself. While progressive overload shaped everything from its name to its educational model, the identity relied on familiar conventions from the fitness industry. I translated that philosophy into a brand system where every visual decision reinforces the idea of continuous growth.

(Project Information)

Milo had built a strong reputation by helping coaches and athletes develop through education rooted in progressive overload. The principle shaped everything the organisation did—from its curriculum and teaching philosophy to its name, inspired by the Greek myth of Milo of Croton. Yet despite being central to the business, that idea was almost invisible in the brand itself. Instead, the identity relied on familiar visual conventions from the performance industry. My work began by understanding what made Milo fundamentally different. Through strategic workshops and research, we uncovered that progressive overload wasn't simply a training methodology—it was the organising principle behind the entire organisation. Every course, every programme and every decision reflected the same belief: meaningful progress happens through consistent, incremental growth. Rather than introducing a new narrative, we translated that philosophy into the foundation of the brand. Progressive overload became the strategic lens through which every design decision was made, replacing decorative industry cues with a system built on purpose. The identity doesn't just communicate performance; it behaves like the philosophy itself. This thinking informed everything from the visual identity and motion principles to the website, messaging and educational ecosystem. Each element was designed to reinforce the same underlying idea, creating a brand where strategy and execution are inseparable. The result is a brand that finally reflects the organisation behind it. Instead of looking like another performance company, Milo now expresses the principle that has always defined it—making continuous growth visible in every interaction.
